How Big is Moppet Togs?
Started
in 2005, Moppet Togs is the biggest children's consignment sale in
the Treasure Valley. In the Fall of 2009, there were over
50,000 items and 5,000 shoppers. We expect the Spring 2010 sale to be much bigger as we have moved into a new 10,000 sq. ft.
facility.

Togs has donated thousands of items to City
Lights over the past 5 years.
Does
Moppet Togs Use Computers To Automate the Sale?
Moppet
Togs has an automated inventory control system that enables
consignors to enter items from the comfort of their homes using
the internet. In addition, all sales items have bar coded
price tags which speeds check out and enables consignors to track
sales via the Internet at the end of every sales day. In
addition, the Moppet Togs system enables them to reconcile and
print consignor checks with 48 hours of the the close of the sale.
Can
I bring my husband or mother with me to the Pre-Sale?
YES!!
We are allowing workers and consignors to bring a spouse or parent
with them to the Pre-Sale to help them shop. This includes your
husband or
mother, not your best friend. We will be checking!
Can
I bring children to the Pre-Sale?
At this
point we are allowing children at the Pre-Sale, but they must
remain with you at all times. If we find an unaccompanied child in
the toy section, we will kindly bring him to his parent. You might
want to start working on your childcare now so that you don't need
to bring your child. Just bring a tape measure and your child's
measurements!
How
should I price my items?
We
suggest you set the price at 30% of the retail value. Baby
Equipment,
Furniture and Large Indoor/Outdoor Toys usually sell for more and
are in
high demand. We will have an abundance of 0-24 month sizes, so
they must be
priced competitively in order to sell.
What
if my item is not worth your minimum price guideline of $2.50?
If it
meets our "excellence quality" standards, then group it
together with
one or two more like items. Pin them together on a hanger, or
group them in
a Ziplock bag and put one price for the entire group.
Should
I iron my clothes?
Wrinkled
clothes do not sell! We will likely send them home to you if they
are extremely wrinkled. Please do what is necessary to make your
clothes look clean and nice. Remember, the better they look, the
more likely they are to sell!
After
I bring my items, can I bring additional items?
Yes,
you may bring in items to sell through Sunday.
Will
you be featuring local businesses?
Yes. We
will have a table for local child related businesses to
advertise. Also, this year we will have advertising Goody
Bags.
